Doom co-creator John Romero has revealed in a recent podcast that he has begun work on a new shooter, although it's in very early stages.
"I haven't made a shooter since 2000. So I'm basically starting to work on another one," Romero said on a recent episode of the Super Joystiq Podcast
, adding that he has already begun working with a concept artist to lay the groundwork on this new project and had "some cool imagery" for the protagonist.
Not much else is known about the project besides the fact that Romero Games will be creating the title. Romero and his wife Brenda have been working mainly on social games at their studio Loot Drop. This will be the first time Romero has worked on a shooter since 2000's Daikatana, the time-traveling title from Ion Storm.
