Hallmark developer Bungie has today confirmed that the Xbox One version of their sci-fi MMO shooter Destiny will be running at the fabled 1080p resolution, though it won't be doing so during the beta starting next week.
The news was confirmed in a recent
IGN Live segment, which the (unofficial)
Destiny Blog was nice enough to spot. Bungie community manager David Daguee (Deej) confirmed the Xbox One news, noting that the 1080p visual upgrade will only be available on the launch of the game. Sadly this means that those joining in on the beta come next week will have to endure a lower res until its launch. PlayStation 4 will be running at 1080p in both beta and launch.
Destiny will begin its beta tomorrow morning at 3AM AEST for PlayStation players, with Xbox fans will have to wait until next week for their turn.
Destiny will be available come September 9th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

I'm actually playing PC at the moment ph33x. But yes I have a console as well? Just pointing out that developers still have to accommodate for the older systems is all. It's a fact.
