Batman fans eager to pick up the newest installment in the Arkham series will find PlayStation 4 users getting access to an exclusive DLC that will pit players against a giant version of Scarecrow. If that wasn't enough, you'll also be fighting your way through an entire city hopped up on hallucinogens courtesy of the big man himself, all according to a listing on the PlayStation 4 website (via Polygon).

According to the Batman: Arkham Knight page the DLC will be titled "Scarecrow Nightmare Pack," in which players will find that Scarecrow's powerful nightmare-inducing toxins have spread at an alarming rate throughout Batman's home town, Gotham. As you would expect, this certainly doesn't help the Bats in fighting crime on the streets when all your assailants are hopped up on Scarecrow gas.
"Gotham falls victim to Scarecrow's fear toxin, transforming the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare in the Batman: Arkham Knight Scarecrow Nightmare Pack," reads the description. "Tear through the city in the all-new Batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army as they spread terror on the streets, available exclusively on Playstation 4."
The exclusive DLC was first revealed during Sony's E3 2014 presser, whereby a not-so-pretty-looking Scarecrow took to the big screen towards the end of the gorgeous looking gameplay trailer showing off the Batmobile in action. As one who doesn't quite like exclusive DLC and is a rather large fan of Batman, here is hoping the content does eventually come to the other platforms in the future. Check it out below.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One come 2015.

As a rather large fan of Batman I really, really hope that this exclusive DLC phase that Sony and Microsoft are going through dies quickly. At the very least I hope its just a timed exclusive which I can kind of deal with, but when it comes to an RPG, gating off content is just not fun.

The console war between Sony and Microsoft is not very nice at the moment. Most of us console gamers who don't really care about it are kind of frustrated with this sort of business practice but what can you do. I just try and keep the developers on side so they at least keep it timed.

@Hogfather - Well, I don't think batarangs are going to do a whole lot against those drone tanks...

Hopefully this will end up like what happened with all the Arkham City DLC with all of it eventually becoming available to every platform.

uhm, like the plethora of console exclusive dlc that has come before xbone and ps4 were even a fart in the a******* of dev's
this s*** has gone on for years, and will continue to.
laffing at jeffro being in here on another console orientated thread like "oh we, and us and we"

seriously. it's been going on for years, so what.

It's not even a first for the series, there was PS3 exclusive content with Arkham Asylum. The Mac version got this content but the Windows version didn't.

I don't mind exclusive content but when you have a multi platform game that gates DLC for one platform it's just stupid and I will be pushing to make this timed like I did with the Destiny PS4 exclusive DLC.

Yeah, I don't think it would be unreasonable to bundle some DLC with a particular platform, and make it paid on another platform - but to make it altogether unavailable on one platform might be just plain annoying to some gamers.

Once again, the consumer loses. :(

And speaking of weapons that don't kill, the Batmobile reveal made me think of this...

the good thing about being primarily a PC gamer is that most console exclusive content comes to PC as well.

I for one am hoping so. If the Scarecrow levels are anything like the ones in Asylum, they should be a blast!
