Blizzard is continuing the updates to their older World of Warcraft race models with female Night Elves marking the latest addition, complete with a number of poly touch ups.
Lead character artist Tyson Murphy took to
battle.net to reveal the new racial model changes, outlining that female Night Elves will receive a touch up to muscle definition, along with additional refinement to the eyes and eyebrows. Likewise, the character model will receive new details to her hands and fingernails. The new model changes will be made available for free alongside the next expansion, Warlords of Draenor.
"As with all of the updated character models, our goal is to keep everything the original model accomplished intact, while using the additional fidelity to realize characteristics that we weren't able to fully represent with the lower polygon counts and texture resolutions," wrote Murphy.
Sadly, we haven't yet seen what the male Night Elves will look like but here is hoping that Blizzard adopts the more preferred
Night Elf Mohawk changes. For more on the Night Elf female changes check out the
battle.net blog.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor will be out sometime before December 20th, 2014 for Windows and Mac OS X.
