Rockstar San Diego's acclaimed open world western Red Dead Redemption has been sadly absent from the PC platform since its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 almost four years ago today, but could that be about to change soon?

for the game has recently been established in the Windows Compatibility Center, an official resource maintained by Microsoft for cataloging approved Windows Software (thanks VG247
Red Dead Redemption is listed as compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, which can reportedly only be created either by the application's developer, or by Microsoft itself, making it unlikely to be a community hoax. There's no sign of Rockstar's other big PC-absent title Grand Theft Auto V in the database though.
