Activision has confirmed that the upcoming movie game tie-in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has now been delayed indefinitely for Xbox One, just weeks before its launch.
Activision has yet to fully explain the move, however has confirmed that they are "revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One." The delay was first noticed by
GamersHonestTruth, which came to light after reports that pre-orders for the Xbox One version had been cancelled our local EB Games retailer.
Initially it was believed to only be effecting Australian versions, however reports from NeoGAF users show that references to the Xbox One version had been quietly removed from the game's international official site. These included the removal of the box from any and all assets plus the inability to pre-order for the console. The Activision spokesperson confirmed the decision, stating that "when and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD."
The game is still due for release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U come May 7th.
