WildStar developer Carbine Studios has sent over a new video in their "Flick" series, this time showing off what you can expect on the Player versus Player front in the sci-fi MMO.

Titled Warplots, these rather unique battlegrounds are part of WildStar’s Elder Game (level 50) PvP and combines strategy and team coordination with competition and a "crapload of fun into a fortress on fortress PvP showdown!" Players will be tasked with killing each other by building their fortress into a death machine, including the use of plasma cannons, mines, incinerators, rocket launchers, bunkers, teleporters, defense grids, attack ships, robot factories, nuclear power plants, orbital strike capabilities and more. Dungeon items are also on the available list, making it even more dynamic than your typical PvP encounter.

There are two win scenarios in Warplots and you’ll earn currency in every match, which can be used to purchase plugs and other upgrades, plus sweet PvP Warplots loot. Further details have been promised in the next DevSpeak, but for now you can check out the flick below.

It ain't just Warplots that we have for you today, with the folks at Carbine and Reboot PR offering us a handful of beta weekend keys to throw at your faces. We've got over 30 of these suckers, and they'll be gone in no time so jump in before its too late. We've gated this one off to those who've had at least 100 posts on the forums, just to ensure our more loving fans are able to smash some face in WildStar. Check out all the details over here.

People should get all up in that s***, its a really solid game. Already felt more polished in beta, months out from release, than most new MMOs do at launch.

I am super super keen for this game. Very keen to join a server at launch with other QGLers.

Oh also, beta this weekend is testing out the UI 2.0 I believe. So that should be exciting!

Now, I know I'm an ESO fan, but I saw a couple of videos of this and the graphics reminded me of WoW, only simpler.

Yeah, graphics are very reminiscent of WoW, its gone for a more cartoony approach where everything is exaggerated, which isn't overly suprising in itself cos Carbine (the studio that makes it) was started by 17 ex blizzard peeps from the Vanilla/BC WoW days. Dunno if I'd say its simpler, but its probably more stylised in a lot of ways. Personally I prefer the style, I think it ages much better than games going for realism do, and its just more interesting to me :p I like the guns or swords that are ludicrously, unrealistically huge and the animations that are way exaggerated and over the top, just seems to add more character to the characters and the world. But its totally a personal thing, different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, was reading a thread on their forums today, they're looking at tagging some servers at launch as 'Oceanic' so there'll be some official oceanic servers for people to join, rather than have all the Oceanic players spread out all over the place. They'll still be hosted in Dallas, and might not even run on our time, but they'll be populated with people at the times we play which is the important bit. If not, there'll be an unofficial oceanic server decided on the forums I'm sure, just not decided yet cos theres no final launch server listing yet.

Lots of buzz about this game being the next big thing, could use something a bit different instead of the same old thing rehashed. Hopefully it's not just the same old thing in a shiny package.
