Outlast's first piece of downloadable content, Whistleblower, has been delayed from its original April launch and will now be available in May, developer Red Barrels announced via its website.

Starting just before the events of the original game, Outlast: Whistleblower will take players on another horrifying journey through Mount Massive Asylum and into the depths of the human mind as they try to escape from the horrors within.

According to Polygon, co-founder Philippe Morin stated that the game's delay was due to "additional time to polish, mix the sound and debug. We felt it was worth it to enhance the experience."

Whistleblower will now be launch on May 7th for PC and PlayStation 4.
