EA has announced a new short film competition being held within the Battlefield universe, titled Battlefield Film Challenge, that is now open to all Australian and New Zealand residents.
Those interested are tasked with creating a video between the lengths of two to five minutes, and inspired by the games within the Battlefield universe, including Battlefield 3, 4 and Bad Company. The video can encompass anything from live-action footage through to Battlefield gameplay. and the entrants will be judge by Battlefield developer DICE.
“We are really excited to bring the Battlefield Film Challenge to our Australia and New Zealand fans and think we are giving filmmaker’s a great platform to receive exposure for their creativity, talent and passion”, says Craig Auld, Label Marketing Lead. “Specifically, the Battlefield theme is quite broad, so we cannot wait to see how our game is incorporated in each of the entries.”
If this sounds like your kind of deal, check out the official website for more including entry terms and such. The five finalists will be flown to Sydney for a special screening event at the Bondi Pavilion on Friday 23rd May. Each video will be showcased to the public, followed by the winner announcement of the AU$10,000 grand prize.

Whilst I like the concept of what Frostbite was supposed to bring to the franchise, I do have much more fond memories of BF1942, BF:V and BF2
(2142 never really had me like the other games, though titan mode was pretty slick)
