The next major update for the console versions of Minecraft, Title Update 14, will launch later today on Xbox 360 and tomorrow on PlayStation 3, according to a post on
Mojang's official website.
The new update is set to offer a number of features that PC players have had for awhile now, including village trading and new terrain generations for Desert Temples, Villages and Jungle Temples. Leather armor and wolf collars are also now dyeable and Ice and Glass panels can be collected with tools enchanted with silk touch. New changes to player behavior have also been made; when riding a pig, the pig can be controlled with a Carrot and a Stick and there is no longer knockback when players are drowning.
Update 14 also fixes several crashes to the console versions plus general bug fixes. Of course it wouldn't be a Minecraft update without new items including: Anvil, Carrot and Carrot on a Stick, Cobblestone Walls, Enchanted Golden Apple, Ender Chest, Emerald and Emerald Ore, Flower Pot, Potato and Baked Potato, Pumpkin Pie, Quartz Slab and Stair, Nether Quartz and Carpet.
Mojang's Daniel Kaplan also notes that work on the new gen console versions is still underway, however wasn't able to share any specific dates yet.
"For you guys asking about the Xbox One and Playstation 4 edition: It is being worked on as we speak," he wrote. "I got no proper dates yet, but hopefully soon we can tell you!"
