Local Australian indie studio 3 Sprockets has announced that their gauntlet inspired user generated hack'n slash title Fight The Dragon was one of eight games to win Best In Play as part of the GDC Play exhibition for GDC 2014. This comes ahead of the game's Steam Early Access release, which is scheduled to go live tomorrow afternoon.
At its core, Fight The Dragon is very much a hack-and-slash game, focusing on fun and exciting gameplay and responsive combat, all based around short play sessions. 10-15 minute adventures in a non-linear format allows players to jump in for a quick fix, or play multiple adventures over longer play sessions.
Blocking, rolling or sprinting, your hero is super agile and can avoid any situation or take enemies face on using chained light attacks with dynamic movement, heavy attacks with knock-back and real physics, all augmented with magic abilities based on shield type. Your hero is set to battle their way through everything in their path.
Fight The Dragon will support up to four players in both LAN and Internet drop-in co-op, and also includes a rather unique dragon battle arena, aptly named "Fight The Dragon". To access this mode you'll need to gather tickets, and each ticket only grants three lives so be prepared to lose those quickly.
Fight The Dragon will be available directly through Steam
on PC and Steam OS as an Early Access title.
