RollerCoaster Tycoon publisher Atari has revealed the newest entry in the long running franchise, though it may not be exactly what fans of the series had hoped for.

Developed by App Store specialist On5, RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is "coming soon" to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Atari said.

"Create and share the coolest amusement park of your dreams and construct incredible roller coasters to keep your visitors excited," reads the official blurb.

"Build the best park, unlock new materials, and exchange roller coaster blueprints with friends to become the ultimate RollerCoaster Tycoon!"

Luckily, Atari has responded to the wide criticism by confirming that a PC "experience" is in development through their Twitter, and due out sometime during this year.
"RollerCoaster Tycoon is back and it's coming to mobile! Rest assured, there is a PC experience in production now for release this year!"
Hopefully we'll hear more on the PC version, but for now you can check out the video below for an idea on what to expect from the mobile version.

Looking forward to this will probably get it for my iPad. So it says this spring which is our Autumn so not long :)

Reading on GamesSpot

The mobile version is appropriately titled RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile and it's coming to iOS devices this spring (there's no word on an Android version). It includes 20 pre-designed coasters and a "bevy" of new attractions and features, Atari said.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile lets you create and share your parks and includes Facebook and Game Center support. You'll also be able to visit your friends' parks and exchange roller coaster blueprints, too. The game will sell for $3 at launch.
