Previously available on the ever-growing list of Steam Early Access titles as a paid-to-access game, publisher Meteor Entertainment has today announced that their mech FPS Hawken is now available for free to all Steam users.
We are proud to announce that our Early Access period on Steam has been very successful! Now, after having 3 weeks to improve and test our servers, we are confident that we are ready for an even greater influx of pilots. We'd like to extend a special thank you to everyone who purchased a bundle and helped us test our servers!
Originally available in a $29.99 bundle for early access, the originally free-to-play title is now truly free-to-play, with any and all Steam users now able to hit that play button for pure mech fun.

While the game is now free to new and old users Meteor Entertainment is still offering Early Access bundles, with a discount of 50% currently running for the Prosk Starter Bundle until March 10th, putting it at $9.99. The team has also announced that the Nemesis bundle will no longer be available past March 10th, so those wanting to suit up in nine of the eighteen models currently available in the game plus some bonus weapons and suits should do so before the end date.

To jump into the Hawken action, simply head over to the Steam page and hit the play button to begin downloading.

The year before last it was about Sandboxing.
Last year it was all about Zombies, Vampires and Survival.
This year it's all about Mechs.
