Best known for their Worms franchise that has spanned a number of titles and platforms, UK-based studio Team17 Software is working on a new game called Flockers, managing director Debbie Bestwick announced during a PlayStation Open Day in Leamington, U.K., today.

This will be the studio's first original IP in more than a dozen years, after spending the majority of its development years on the Worms franchise. Prior to Flockers, Team17 developed the racing title Stunt GP on Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and Windows PC in 2001.

"This is the most important game we've worked on in over a decade," Bestwick told Develop. The team hasn't revealed anything more than a logo for Flockers, which features heavy steampunk aesthetics, though hopefully further details on the new IP will be revealed in the coming days.

Team17 are currently working on its latest Worms title, Worms Battlegrounds, which is being developed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
