Sony Online Entertainment has today announced that their long-awaited sandbox MMO EverQuest Next: Landmark is now available in Alpha form starting today with Founder's Pack purchasers able to access the game.

Those who have purchased either the Explorer or Trailblazer packs will be given access to the Alpha, with emails being sent out now holding all required information. Players wanting to know what the system requirements are can find the official blog post detailing both minimum and recommended specs.

If you are wanting to get an idea of just what the Alpha will actually be offering to players, both Shacknews and RPS have revealed their hands-on previews so go check them out. The Alpha is under lockdown, so you won't be hearing any reports from players until SOE has given the greenlight, but if you happen to miss out on grabbing the required Founder's Pack you can still do so on the official website.

EverQuest Next: Landmark will be available later this year as a free-to-play title, for both PC and PlayStation 4.
