Carbine Studios is continuing its highly informative "DevSpeak" series, this time taking a look at one of the more personal interests of mine in an MMO, player customisation.
As with any MMORPG, having your player look and feel like your own personal expression is key to feeling unique in a world bustling with thousands of other players running around. So Carbine is taking it upon themselves to ensure WildStar offers those choices, through a number of key modifications to your player.
The first thing you'll do when jumping into WildStar is customising the look of your character. Want to make a Ryan Gosling lookalike? Go nuts. Moving on from the actual character is gear customisation, which offers a variety of dyes and costumes to spice up that plate armour donned with skulls. Alongside dyes is also stat modifications, letting you choose extra stats depending on the slot count to enable further gear enhancements.
It isn't just the player that will be up for customisation in WildStar according to the DevSpeak, with housing, mounts and even battlegrounds all up for customising. A brief glimpse at crafting and talent trees were also shown in the video, giving us an idea that the developers sound like they've put a lot of thought into the reasons behind the standard systems, and expanded and improved as needed.
