Local Brisbane indie developer Defiant Development has revealed that their card based roguelike Hand of Fate is nearing its final stretch on their Kickstarter crowdfunding drive, with only $20,000 left of their $50,000 goal to go.
Hand of Fate is a card based roguelike, in which the player builds a collection of cards into a deck, which is then used to deal out the dungeon floors through which they adventure. Upon entering a combat, all of the cards the player has collected fly into their hands as fully modeled 3D assets, and combat begins.
The local talent showed off their card trading game at this year's first Australia PAX event in Melbourne, with a number of positive impressions walking away from the hands-on demonstration. Those looking to chip in will find that the Kickstarter reward tiers start at $20, which includes alpha and beta access, with higher tiers offering the chance to design your own card and even visit the studio in Brisbane all for the right price.

Check out their pitch video below and swing by the Kickstarter page for more on what the game is about.

Aussie studios keep plugging away regardless, great to see!

According to their reward tiers, they already have a playable alpha ready to go.

Thanks Phandaal! We're actually not quite ready with the Alpha, but it's only 1 or 2 weeks away - will go out almost immediately after the KS concludes (give or take a week).

From there, we should be ready for Beta early 2014 and launch by April.

Thanks for the mention Ausgamers!

Really nice presentation all around there, from UI to modelling to animation, might look at backing it and hope it surprises me with awesome gameplay too.
