If you thought the MOBA genre wasn't getting enough attention you'll be happy to hear that developer Eutechnyx has revealed a new title based in the Warhammer 40k universe, Storm of Vengeance (via Rock Paper Shotgun).

Aiming for release on both PC and mobile platforms, Eutechnyx insist on calling it a “lane strategy game” rather than dubbing it a MOBA, though there is no real difference in the two considering both utilise lane mechanics.

“Storm of Vengeance offers the player the chance to command the tenacious defence of the planet with only 100 Dark Angel Space Marines, or attempt it’s annihilation using the cunning of the Ork Waaagh! and their telly-porta technology.”

Little else is known on exactly how the game plans to make itself distinct in a genre dominated by the likes of League of Legends or DOTA 2, though being set in the Warhammer 40k universe may just help alongside focusing primarily on the mobile market.

Eutechnyx CEO Darren Jobling has stated that “Storm of Vengeance sees Eutechnyx working with one of the most established brands in gaming. I am very excited that our new partnership with Games Workshop will allow us to bring the world of Warhammer 40,000 to dedicated fans around the world via our new mobile division.”
