Indie studio Logic Artists is gearing up to take players back to the 90's in their newest title Clandestine, a spy thriller set for release in 2014 (via Shacknews
). As suggested by the article title, players can expect to play cooperatively with friends as you take on the role of a field agent and a hacker in asymmetrical co-op gameplay.
Clandestine is a stealth action game set in the spy-thriller genre of the 90's. It is 5 years after the fall of the Soviet Union and there is great unrest in the shadowy world of international espionage as the old spies struggle to adapt to the new world order. Veteran Cold War operatives from both sides of the Iron Curtain are dying under mysterious circumstances.
The Kingbridge Executive, a top-secret task force built from and financed by government agencies around the world has been charged with investigating. Play as the Operative in single player or team up and take on this mystery in asymmetrical coop as either Operative or Mission Control, working together to bypass security systems and unravel the truth.
Ali Emek, Producer at Logic Artsts revealed that you can expect "a new kind of play experience based on our love for tactical stealth games." Emek also believes that Clandestine will be able to recreate the feel and atmosphere of the decade in the game, and hopefully challenge players in this iconic time in technological development.
This is definitely one to keep an eye on depending on how well the co-op gameplay flows, but if you'd like to see a glimpse of what to expect check out the teaser trailer below. Clandestine is expected to be released in 2014 on PC.
