FlatOut series and Ridge Racer: Unbounded developer Bugbear Entertainment unveiled their latest efforts in the car smashing scene with the announcement of Next Car Game back in
early September, with a promising date of early 2014 for the PC-only title. Today, the developer has taken to crowd-funding website
Kickstarter in hopes of garnering extra support for their next car game.
Over the years, we’ve been thinking about going back to our roots, and creating another high-octane racing game that would capture the spirit of over-the-top action and reckless racing as the legendary games of the past. For years, both Destruction Derby and FlatOut fans have been screaming for a comeback.
Now it’s the time, and we have some pretty exciting news for you. Our next racing game is going to bring those unforgettable moments up-to-date, and the best part of it all is that we want to make it with YOU!
Bugbear has described the game as a "high-octane racing game" that combines both the over-the-top, reckless racing action of the FlatOut series with the ferocious wrecking fests of the Destruction Derby games.
If this sounds like your kind of racing style, check out the
Kickstarter page which is aiming for $350,000 as its goal. Only one stretch goal has been revealed so far, and that is a next-gen port to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at $1,500,000. Still scratching your head? Check out the
official website for more and find the pitch video below.
