Activision has unveiled an official gameplay trailer for the new Extinction mode - an all-new 1-4 player cooperative game mode for Call of Duty: Ghosts featuring a unique blend of fast-paced survival action, FPS base defense, scavenging and class leveling.

The new mode offers what seems to be Infinity Ward's answer to Treyarch's zombies, however this time its aliens instead of undead humans rotting from the inside. The video gives a brief overview of the insectoid aliens, which seem to be in the same vein as Warhammer 40k, StarCraft, or Starship troopers. Players will be tasked with destroying the breeding hives while also preparing a nuke, which will presumably wipe out the outer space enemies.
