Early this morning, Activision dropped a teaser video for the expected new cooperative-focused Extinction game-mode in the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts, featuring a smokey skull morphing into the insectoid icon previously seen in leaked achivements.

However, an official reveal looks to have been mostly pre-empted by a new leak, as an imgur users has posted a gallery of 17 off-screen photos from the game, which paint a rather comprehensive picture of a horde-style multiplayer cooperative mode, where the AI opponents are Aliens --a departure from the zombies of Treyarch's Call of Duty efforts (thanks Polygon).

The photos show insectoid aliens in the vein of Warhammer 40k, StarCraft, or Starship troopers, with mention of hives, relics and drills, as well as four player classes: tank, weapon specialist, medic and engineer.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is out November 5th on PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with Xbox One on November 22nd and PlayStation 4 on November 29th.

Call of Duty continues its fail streak of lack of dinosaurs... This seemed like a perfect opportunity for them.
