Brisbane-based indie studio Armed Amoeba Studios, who are filled to the brim with a handful of final year Games and Interactive Entertainment students from the Queensland University of Technology, has unveiled their single-player platform game Figment, now available for download.
You are Patient 8 and you must flee from your padded cell into a fantastical and dangerous world, infested with giant mechanical spiders, flesh eating beasts and carnivorous flowers prompted by the somewhat questionable advice of a manic floating red eye.
Figment was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, Tim Burton’s dark and beautiful style and the artworks of surrealist painter Salvador Dali. It is set in a visually rich (and grimy) world full of unsettling monsters with a quirky story that keeps players interested and on their toes.
If this sounds like its ticking all your local indie boxes you can find a full download available
over here, and check out the official trailer below for a look at the unique title.
