Double Fine has launched their sci-fi management sim, Spacebase DF-9, through Steam's Early Acccess program, enabling eager space travellers the chance to try out the in-alpha game a little bit earlier on Windows, Mac and Linux.
In Spacebase DF-9, you'll build a home among the stars for a motley population of humans and aliens as they go about their daily lives. Mine asteroids, discover derelicts, and deal with the tribulations of galactic resettlement in Earth's distant future. Meteor impacts! Explosive decompression! Unbearable loneliness!
Tagged at $25 or $30 with the soundtrack included, players are tasked with keeping their citizens of space happy as they go about their daily lives, dealing with numerous daily tasks similar to Dwarf Fortress or the popular Sims series.

As with other previous Early Access alpha games, Double Fine has stressed that this is still in-development, so expect the usual bugs and crashes associated with such a product. If you feel like Earth isn't really doing it for you and you'd rather live a life like the recent Gravity movie, head over to the Steam page now for more on the game or check out the official website to leave your feedback.

This could be cool. I might wait till it's a bit further down in the development before getting it. Got so many early access games lately and they all have so much work to be done.

Ehh, buy it cheap, play other stuff while they fix it imo :P

I have so many games backed up that most of the early access games I buy are on their second expansion by the time I get around to playing it lol.

Dwarf Fortress guy had a great game, it seems he keeps forgetting to add fun to it. I've been waiting a year or two for him to get his army AI going and being able to dig. Last time I played it was too easy to make a unassailable Fortress.
