It's no secret that the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online portion of Grand Theft Auto B has been somewhat of a disaster, varying from the inability to join any lobby through to characters being randomly deleted from Rockstar's cloud servers. Some, like myself, have been lucky enough to get into an online server through large waiting times and found it to be a blast, but the process is still rocky for a majority of users.

To help ease the growing anger from those unable to play GTA Online, Rockstar has recently responded on their growing launch updates post that players can expect a title update within the next 24 hours to help ease the launch woes.
We're currently working on a title update for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to address commonly reported issues with GTA Online. We hope to have it out for download as soon as tomorrow.
For now, its recommended to check out the Rockstar support article to keep up-to-date on all the issues plaguing the multiplayer portion and have hope that soon you'll be able to jump in to the online world of Grand Theft Auto V.

If they had made online available from the get go I reckon it would have been far more stable. Some people would.have skipped story, others would play multi after finishing story and would do so at different rates and trickle mire evenly into multi. Rather than give a large portion if people to finish single and wait to basically DDOS the multi service
