DICE has posted up another
Battlefield 4 blog post, this time detailing the new updates that the Battlelog system will be receiving come launch.
Introduced to the FPS series with Battlefield 3, the developers are hoping that this newly revamped Battlelog is able to offer an "enhanced experience for the player that allows them to be constantly connected to the game, whether it’s in front of their console or PC or on the go using their mobile device."
"We had to fundamentally change some features – like fully integrating Battlelog into the game on next-gen consoles and PC. By doing this, it has enabled us to give Battlelog a style and look that is much more in-tune with the game, introduce connected features to make it an even more powerful companion and provide new ways for you to customize your experience."
In-game integration includes a number of new features, one of which is a widget that appears at the top right corner of your screen that will offer up various information pertaining to Battlelog. According to the blog post the widget will offer information on "how many of your friends are currently playing BF4 or how many active Missions you have available (a new feature where you can create new challenges for you and your friends)." Of course for those who aren't too keen on social integration DICE has made it possible to turn the widget off, allowing you peace of mind while you blow up some buildings.
The blog post goes into far more detail about geo leaderboards, the companion app for mobile platforms, missions and more so hit up the
official post for full details.
Battlefield 4 will be available on October 29 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with next-gen versions launching November 22nd for Xbox One and November 29th for PlayStation 4.
