Valve have confirmed that the Dota 2 First Blood update will be coming in a few days, landing on September 23rd. Some highlights from the official First Blood source:
. Timbersaw: Fixed Timberchain not being interrupted by stuns
. Pudge: Meat Hook now pulls the target to the initial hook position regardless of where Pudge is
. Fixed being able to instantly toggle Armlet on and off
. Beginning soon, users will be suspended from Dota 2 for 30 days when external . tools attached to Dota 2 are detected by the Valve Anti-Cheat system
. Increased length of forgiveness threshold to reset the severity of communication bans to 3 weeks
There's also a new game mode called Captain's Draft:

This game mode randomly selects 8 str, 8 agi, and 8 int heroes that both teams can choose from
Each team's captain bans 2 heroes (1/1/1/1) out of that list
Each team's captain selects 5 heroes (1/2/2/2/2/1) out of the remaining list
There is a 150 second total time pool for each team to complete all of their bans and selections


Finally, if you love DoTA2, then you are probably aware of the top plays and fail plays that are published weekly by Dota Cinema. You may have missed the following video where people submitted some pretty terrible plays thinking they were worthy of being included in the top plays compilations.

no more armlet toggle? f*****g boo.
dumbing down the game too much. things that were initially bugs in dota 1 were deliberately programmed into dota 2 because they made for a more skilful game if you actually know how to play heroes and use items properly. do not like.

I think the fix is to address custom binds or some s*** that allows instant toggle as opposed to the 1sec delay set by the game.

Alt-left clicking on an enemy icon in the top bar will send a chat message that the hero is missing

probably a result of the retarded f*****g crying after ti3 about it being an exploit. it wasn't and had been deliberately left in the game by valve. high risk high reward move that even if you land them in pubs probably isn't going to win you the game yet d*******s have a whinge. way too many people cry OP about all kinds of s*** that isn't. having said that; nerf huskar :p

I think it was more of Icefrog bringing fountain hooking to parity with Dota1. It's possible to do it still, just super f*****g hard.

Forgot about that one konstie. Its a good addition to specify who is actually missing in a side lane as opposed to just a 'missing' call.

Yeah i agree. Miss the hook and its a 4v5 fight. As you said, its probably from all the crying following TI3.
I played a game as chen a while back where we were getting stomped so the pudge decided to try fountain hooks for lols. Landed 2 from about 10 because he kept hooking too early. 1 team mate started raging saying we were throwing the game.

I really do hate the OP calls cause its normally just somebody who picked poorly and/or is getting out played. The game is how old so surely its well f*****g balanced. Although some of the recent changes made by valve (such as huskar as mentioned) may need some time to be finely balanced.

Anyone got some epic dota stats?
For example I have an 80% win ratio from 40 games with Zeus.

I see carson has 77% win ratio with enigma.

Not an epic stat but i pretty much always random and i random QOP much more than the 1/100 (our however many heroes there are) it should be.

Checked the heroes i most win with and got 13-4 zeus, 12-3 rik, 12-5 veno, 12-5 SF.

Valve don't have much input in the balance. It's still all Icefrog. My theory, backed up by nothing more than my theory, is that every big change patch, he makes one hero completely broken to try new stuff.

I dunno why I have such a high win rate with Enigma. I haven't played him much at all lately. My lowest win rate is with Slardar. I'm like 0-5 or 0-10 with him. I have NFI how to play him.

I have a high win rate with sladar (65%) cause I always pick him to counter riki or another invis hero.

hehe, such a s***** win percentage with viper of all heroes. first time i played the game i played him almost exclusively so didn't learn the game for s***. didn't play for 6 months or so then when I came back I randomed every time since then and have changed my noob ways :)
