Game Informer are reporting that DICE and EA could be looking at offering a transfer system for their upcoming current-gen and next-gen FPS title Battlefield 4, allowing players to transfer their profile data across systems.

Earlier in the week EA Sports revealed that a new system would be in place for players to transfer their Ultimate Team profiles across the generation jump, with FIFA 14 and Madden 25 supporting this feature. Fans of Battlefield 4 took to Twitter to question whether this feature would make its way to DICE's FPS, with the Battlefield Twitter offering a hopeful response.
We've heard reports that players would like their stats and progression to transfer from current to next-gen in #BF4. We're investigating.
Obviously this kind of system would help a number of players not wanting to wait until the next-generation of consoles appear, but want to get in on the Battlefield 4 action as soon as possible. Those players who do take up the action on current-gen systems and then move to next-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One would definitely like a transfer feature to ensure their hard work is kept intact.

Battlefield 4 is due on October 31st 2013 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions also in the works.

Talk about no idea...

"This sounds like a feature that EVERYONE WANTS," Said no-one ever.

It seems to me that this is a fairly insignificant adjustment to how they manage accounts now anyway (unless I'm mistaken, they'll just set up one 'user accounts database' instead of three... if nothing else it could be seen as a cost saver for them.

In other news, does ANYONE here play the BF franchise on console (y'know, before we get to asking how many of you bought it on PC and then later thought "Hey, I own this on PC... I'd really like to pay $60 or more and play it on console too!"
The only BF game I've bought on console was BF1943, and that's simply because it never hit PC.

Who in there right mind would want to taint their pc stats with their console ones?
My only guess would be people that buy the same game on two platformer.?.?

Because some people have friends that play on ps3 and not pc? Someone people also don't care about KDR, its about having fun with friends (Look up friends, also look up fun) Personally i think its a great solution, if it doesn't effect you, shut ya yap.

With one of battlefield 4 new features being geo stats it doesn't matter if you don't care about stats. But for those that do wouldn't it put them at a massive disadvantage when using this new geo stat?

I doubt it, im sure the geo would only be analyzing against people currently playing on the same platform.

I think they are talking about people being able to take their bf4 game/stats from xbox360/ps3 to xbox1/ps4 when they upgrade to the newer consoles. If that is the case i think it is a good idea. Or do i have this arse up?

Only thing I could see people really caring about, is if they unlock everything on one platform, also wanting it unlocked on another.

People that care about stats would not do that. These are the people are play the game for a few hundred hours, getting really familiar and good. Then wipe their stats so they aren't tainted by the time they were getting used to the game and pretend they are even better.

yeah i think i read it as console stats being carried over onto new gen console, not console to pc and back again
just so ppl buy the game on ps3/xbox 360 and then again on new gen, rather than just waiting for new gen.

its just a money making scheme lol. ill stick to my pc version :P
