Insomniac Games has formally unveiled Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, a PlayStation 3 title due later this year. After accidentally being leaked to the public through their website, Insomniac revealed that the new series entry will release both digitally and in-store.
After one of the most infamous manhunts in galactic history results in the capture of Vendra Prog, Ratchet and Clank offer to escort the dangerous criminal to the Vartax Detention Center. After a daring orbital jailbreak at the forgotten edge of the galaxy, Ratchet and Clank find themselves lost in an abandoned sector. There, in deepest space, they uncover an inter-dimensional event that threatens the universe—and forces Ratchet to decide what’s really important.
The new title will see familiar faces returning, including the obvious Ratchet and Clank, along with the of Captain Qwark, Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr in a brand-new, story-driven single-player adventure.
Clank has also been giving a new makeover, with new abilities gracing his arsenal that include altering gravity, manipulating objects and solving mind-bending platforming puzzles.
Those wondering whether the wacky gadgets that have long been a common theme in the series will return will be happy to hear that this is indeed the case. Players can expect to arm themselves with a variety of exotic new weapons and gadgets, including the Winterizer and Nether Blades.
