After being released in 2009 as a freeware title and later released in 2012 on the Xbox Live Arcade, side-scrolling indie hit Spelunky will finally be making a HD comeback to PC through both Steam and Good Old Games.

Taking to his Tumblr page, Spelunky creator Derek Yu has revealed that PC players will be able to get their hands on the randomly-generated platformer come August 8, and will bring with it a number of changes that was seen in the Xbox Live Arcade release.

"It's much more than a port of the original game, and has new graphics, music, zones, monsters, items, traps, and secrets," writes Yu on his official website. Those looking for the PlayStation 3 and Vita ports will be happy to hear that those versions are in the works at Blit Game Studios, and will also release later this year.

If you have no clue what Spelunky actually is, you can check out the freeware version that was originally released on PC over here. According to Yu, the PC title will be going for $15 on both GoG and Steam.
