Celebrating the US national holiday, Deep Silver has released an Independence Day trailer for Saints Row IV, serving up an assortment of gameplay action with a blockbuster narrator, and borrowing a few references from the appropriate Roland Emmerich film.
Earth has fallen into the hands of @EmperorZinyak and his evil alien empire. Its citizens have been imprisoned inside hellish simulations. Humanity's only hope is the former head of the Third Street Saints—the President of the United States. Reclaim life, defend liberty, and pursue happiness at all costs with superpowers, a giant mech, a celebrity Vice President, a dubstep gun, and all the melodrama you can cram into an open world extravaganza.
Saints Row 4 is due on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America on August 20th 2013, Europe on August 23rd, and New Zealand on August 22nd. An Australian launch is still uncertain, due to the ACB's recent decision to refuse classification, but with a low violence version having since appeared on Steam, it's looking likely to arrive on time.
