PopCap Games has revealed on their Twitter that the upcoming sequel to popular garden game Plants vs Zombies has been delayed, stating that they "want to make sure the game lives up to fans' expectations." The delay has pushed the game back into a late summer release instead of its expected July 18th date.
Plants vs. Zombies 2, originally slated for a July 18th release, will now be released later in the summer (winter for Australia). Stay tuned for more details.
For those worried that this delay may have changed the initial platform release for Apple products don't worry, as a follow-up tweet confirmed that the game is still on track for initial release on said platform.

PopCap Games has yet to state whether Plants vs Zombies 2 will be coming to other platforms, but hopefully we will hear more sooner rather than later for all those eager to lay waste to zombies invading their lawn.
