While Minecraft for PC chugs past the 11 million mark earlier last week, developer Mojang has revealed that Update 1.6, the fabled update to bring horses into the game, is now available in pre-release form.
Minecraft Update 1.6 will see the introduction of donkeys, mules, horses which will all be tameable and rideable. Naturally the addition of horse armour is also being offered in the update to ensure protection for your four legged friends. Other items added include carpets, leads, blocks of coal, name tags and hale.
A high-level changelog is available on the
official website, alongside the new (and required) launcher for the pre-release update. The page also lists the most recent changes since the update has gone live, so keep an eye out for bug fixes.
The update will available officially on July 1.
