Microsoft will be bringing a number of its console and PC titles to the iOS and Android markets, one of which will be free-to-play title Age of Empires Online.
Reuters is reporting that a recent tie-up with Japanese smartphone game maker Klab Inc will "bring Microsoft's Xbox and Windows-based computer games to the iPhone and smartphones using Google Inc's Android operating system."
Microsoft has issued an official statement on the matter, revealing that "a mobile version of Microsoft Studio's Age of Empires franchise" can be expected sometime during the end of the year for both iOS and Android systems. Plans are also in place to launch the game on other systems including the Windows Phone. According to the statement however the initial reporting "included incorrect information" about additional titles making their way to the mobile platforms, revealing that no plans have yet been finalised.
Age of Empires Online is currently available to play on PC for free.
