Nordic Games has recently announced that it has swooped in and gathered both the Desperados and Silver IPs. Both of the IPs were recently purchased from Atari, who has been recently offering up many of its assets including the Atari logo, as well as the Test Drive, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Asteroids, and Pong franchises among others due to recent filing for bankruptcy.
For those who can't quite remember, Desperados was a Wild West stealth-based real-time tactics game series released in 2001 and 2006. In these games - Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and Desperados 2: Cooper´s Revenge - the player controls various characters in a Wild West setting. The protagonist is a knife fighter and gunslinger, John Cooper. As Cooper sets off on his different quests, he is aided by some of his trustworthy companions.
Silver was released in 1999 and was an Action RPG for Microsoft Windows, Dreamcast and Macintosh OS. The game was produced by Infogrames initially for Windows, and later on the Dreamcast. The story focuses around a young warrior called David and his quest to retrieve his wife from the clutches of the villain Silver. On his journey he gains a number of followers and visits many different landscapes.
Hopefully we'll hear more on what Nordic Games has planned for its recent purchasing of IPs, which included a $4.9 million purchase at THQ's asset sale, later this year.
