Thief developer Eidos Montreal has taken to their community blog to reveal that upcoming stealth-action title Thief will be making its way not just to next-gen consoles and PC but also to the current-gen consoles as well.
Senior Producer Stéphane Roy at Eidos Montreal revealed in their blog that Thief would be available not just for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC but also for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Roy also revealed that all platforms will ship simultaneously for those who may be "cautious to plunge feet first into the awesomely hot but unchartered waters of the next generation."
While the visual quality that PCs and next-generation consoles are capable of is obviously impressive, it’s important to know that Thief’s core gameplay experience will be the same across all platforms. The development team wanted to take special care to ensure their vision for the game was achievable on the current generation of machines, so it’s especially exciting to be able to finally announce to our fans around the world that they are able to achieve this goal.
You can check out the official announcement in Eidos Montreal's community announcement video below, which gives a brief look into just what the current-gen consoles will offer for Thief.
Thief is expected to be released sometime in 2014 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
