Blizzard's loot-filled clicking frenzy title Diablo 3 may not be seeing an expansion until 2014 according to a recent report from VenureBeat (thanks PCGamer), who have learnt from a unnamed source that it has been delayed.

While no official word has ever come out as to when an expansion for the now multi-platform title would have seen the light of day, or if there was one at all, many avid fans of the series were hoping for a release sometime this year. According to this new rumour though the expansion has been pushed back to 2014, even after reportedly gaining new employees when Blizzard shuffled development for their Titan MMO.

Hopefully we'll hear a more official word on the matter, but for now those awaiting the console launch of Diablo 3 can check out the new multiplayer trailer, showing off what to expect with re-defined edition.

Diablo 3 is expected to be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 come September 3, however no release date has been given for the PlayStation 4 release.

I guess the solved the lack of cursor to select loot by making no loot drop or it just goes straight into your bag.

Unsurprising. My guess is they want console vanilla to get some play time before dropping the expansion on all platforms at once, Thus giving them more dev time on it without actually saying so.
Sucks though, I'd love some new content. Looking forward to the itemization patch that's in the works.
