Konami's pre-e3 presentation took place over livestream this morning, bringing new details on PES 2014, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and most prominently, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
According to Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, Phantom Pain will be set in 1984, and Snake will be 49 years old. Kojima impied that for this reason, they wanted an actor that would fit the aged character --introducing Kiefer Sutherland as the new voice of Snake.
Despite long-time Snake voice actor David Hayter's take on the character at a wide range of different ages having been completely respectable in past games, the veteran performer only has nice things to say about being usurped by a Hollywood celebrity, tweeting "Can’t fault @RealKiefer. Great actor, good man. The game will probably still be excellent. Like New Coke!".
You can watch the full recorded presentation below, which includes a discussion with Sutherland about his approach to the coveted role.
Metal Gear Sold V: The Phantom Pain still has no planned release date, or confirmed launch platforms.
