While World of Warcraft continues to reign over the MMO throne, the rumour mills are once again churning thanks to a recent post over at VentureBeat, which claims that Blizzard's yet-to-be-announced massively multiplayer title codenamed "Titan" has been delayed until 2016 at the earliest.

The news comes as a source familiar to the project has told VentureBeat that the project has been "reset", citing that of the 100 positions on the development team 70 have now been reassigned to other projects like Diablo 3, Blizzard All-Stars and StarCraft 2. What is left has now been told to "start over on Titan" according to the source.

Blizzard has yet to comment on the rumours, however it will definitely be interesting if these do turn out to be true, as the company has previously "restarted" certain projects like StarCraft and Warcraft 3. At the end of 2010 Blizzard's co-founder and executive Vide President, Frank Pearce, confirmed the existence of the title and its codename at the Spike TV Video Game Awards and just earlier this year rumours appeared revealing several tidbits of information.

Let the rampant speculation begin!

Pretty crazy considering this thing has been in development since before 2007.

Originally meant to be current gen console MMO but delays have made it pushed to next gen so they have to re-do assets? And using D3 as a testing ground to see what works and what doesn't

Is there any proof it's an MMO? I keep seeing people saying it is but have never seen anything confirmed by Blizzard. It could be anything for all we know.

Rev, at the 2010 Spike VGA's Pearce said it was "our next-gen MMO".

Man this was what I was keen for at this year's Blizzcon. Disappointed if it's true. But that being said, more staff on Diablo means more work on that, so happy there.
Could really care less about All-Stars tbh.

This is true.

In a statement, Blizzard spokesman Shon Damron said, “We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception. We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven’t announced any dates for the MMO.”

Basically they spent the last few years developing and perfecting a RMAH, but now realised they need an extra 3 years to add an actual game on top.

@taggs I know you think that diagram protects your use of "could care less", but it's actually just f*****g stupid and infuriating that someone has attempted to make sense of a phrase in the form of a graph that exists only through mishearing "couldn't care less" coupled with a complete lack of understanding English. Unbelievable.

Way to completely miss the point of taggs posting the diagram. Unbelievable.

It drives me up the f*****g wall here in the US when people say "could care less" when meaning couldnt care less. When i question them asking so you do care even if its just a little it confuses the f*****g s*** out of them. For such a highly educated country their use of english is hopeless.

Taipan, I truly feel your pain.

I have to restrain myself from yelling "OH SO YOU DO CARE, THEN!!" when people here say it.

As i try and explain to the guys here, we aussies butcher the s*** out of english but we free admit we do so. Where as they do it and actually think they have it right and are correct in what they say. One of my biggest gripes is the use of this ..... irreguardless. It drives me bat s*** insane when i hear it.

Another one is ..... all of THE sudden instead of all of A sudden. Oh and when they do something BY accident its ON accident, this is one thats extremely common but bugs me less.

If I could be bothered, I'd make a venn diagram for people who can and can't spell Bertis :P

edit: I really miss the days when editing posts changed the timestamp.

For those wondering why fpot has such strong nostalgia for timestamps, it is because I originally misspelled "Bertis" as "Bartis" in my original diagram. I was in the middle of fixing it when fpot posted his comment. Now he is concerned that people coming to the thread after this sequence of events may not have a full appreciation as to what occurred.

Verily, a "gotcha" moment.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion and I apologise sincerely for any emotional distress I have caused the good readers of this forum.

I have never heard of "on accident" being used. I did some quick googling and they mention that it has historically been "by accident" and "on accident" is a new thing.

taggs I really think you must have no understanding of what Bertis actually said. He understands what you were demonstrating with the chart. It's the use of the phrase that's so infuriating because it's quite frankly one of those examples of bad English that seem to appear on the internet and subsequently cause intelligent people to lose faith in a supposedly educated society. I'm not saying that I think you're uneducated or trolling you .. but "could care less" is a non-existent, needless and stupid phrase and Bertis is correct in what he said .. even if his post came across as a little harsh but I actually understand it because (and I honestly don't always like to admit that it gets to me) but this sort of stuff infuriates me as well and I can see how that emotion could spill into a post.

Creepy and Taipan nailed it 100% ^^

The one I can't stand is 'then' and 'than' being misused. Such as "This car is better then that one". It's so common and this is primary school Englis** I have even seen this misused repeatedly in newspapers (and by one Ausgamers editor regrettably). Drives me fkn insane.

See that's my thing, I sucked at school in pretty much every subject and English was no different. I kind of feel that if my stupid ass can get something right then no one has any excuse to f*** it up. I freely admit my spelling and grammar are poor and it's a little embarrassing to suck at my native language however I don't try to pass off my butchering of it as anything other than what it is.

Americans on the other hand are always right and never f*** up, it's true just ask them lol
