As previously hinted at, Pencil Studios has launched a crowdfunding drive for ArmiKrog a spritual successer to The Neverhood, the acclaimed 1996 point-and-click adventure game. The development team features Doug TenNapel, credited as creator of The Neverhood and the iconic Earthworm Jim, with a studio founded by fellow Earthworm Jim, and Neverhood veterans Mike Dietz, and Ed Schofield, who have recruited "much of the original Neverhood development team to create a brand new game that blurs the lines between art and technology, using stop-motion animation and sculpture to bring this project to life".

The project already boasts a top tier voice cast, including Rob Paulsen, Michael J. Nelson, and Jon Heder, and composer of The Neverhood's memorable soundtrack signed on to return.
Without giving too much away, Armikrog follows the adventures of a space explorer named Tommynaut and his blind alien, talking dog named Beak-Beak. They crash land on a weird planet and end up locked in a mysterious fortress called Armikrog. Then...the adventure begins!
Armikrog is targetting a DRM-free launch on PC, Mac, and Linux on July 2014, and after a few hours has almost reached US$100,000 of a $900K funding goal.

Watch the pitch video below, and head over to Kickstarter for backer pledging details.
