After their successful Kickstarter project garnered $1,836,447 early last year, developer Jordan Weisman and the team at Hairbrained Schemes have revealed pre-orders for their 2D tactical title Shadowrun Returns.
Based on the venerable Shadowrun tabletop roleplaying game of the 80s and a spiritual successor to the console games of the 90s, Shadowrun Returns brings back one of our most original & cherished game settings as a single player, turn-based tactical RPG.

The year is 2054 and your old friend Sam has been murdered in Seattle. You’ve been hired to find the killers and bring them to justice, one way or another. Soon you’ll be embroiled in a mystery that expands from missing organs, an antagonistic detective and biker gangs all the way up to the dynastic control of one of the largest Megacorps.
The game is currently available in two editions, a standard edition for $17.99 and a deluxe edition for $31.49. The Deluxe edition offers a soundtrack that includes composers of the much-loved Shadowrun SEGA and SNES games and also a Shadowrun Returns anthology; an illustrated PDF of short stories written for the game and edited by Jordan Weisman, the creator of Shadowrun.

Check it out over at the Steam page. Shadowrun Returns will be available on July 2013.

I'll wait to see what the end product is like, not convinced on the dev's behind it to deliver a solid title, hope they do though.
