Early in the morning Nintendo broadcast their latest Nintendo Direct, focusing mainly on the 3DS handheld but also revealing a few details on titles for the Wii U. Included in the direct was the announcement of three new 3DS titles; The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Sequel, Mario Party 3DS and Yoshi's Island 3DS.

Alongside the two new titles were several gameplay updates (which you can check out below) for a handful of upcoming 3DS titles including: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move and Mario Golf: World Tour. Square Enix also announced that Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be gaining an audience in Australia, with a release later this year.

While this Nintendo direct was mainly focused on the 3DS handheld, Nintendo did slip in some air time for the Wii U. President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, ensured that the Wii U Autumn System Update will be making its way to the console next week. The update will be bringing new functions and enhancing existing ones, in addition to launching the Virtual Console service and a free demo of the Wii U Panorama View. It also shortens loading times when switching between applications or returning to the menu.

Pikmin 3 was also dated for August 4 after being pushed outside of the Wii U launch window after several delays. A new Pikmin type was also revealed, the flying Winged Pikmin. EarthBound will also be making a return in its original form on the Virtual Console, with a release date to be announced.

Check out the full list of trailers released below for a glimpse at what to expect from the 3DS and you can find the full Nintendo Direct over here. Let us know which titles you are most excited for in the comments section.
