Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya, creator of the side-scroller title Cave Story has revealed a new iOS game called Gero Blaster which revolves around the retro side-scrolling action genre.

Currently slated for a possible May 2013 release, Amaya has also revealed that the title may come to other platforms if interest is there, with a recent Twitter post gauging interest in a Sony PlayStation Vita port. Another Twitter post by Tyrone Rodriguez from Nicalis has teased an image of Gero Blaster running on the Nintendo 3DS XL handheld, further pushing the likelihood of a handheld console release.
