Capcom and Nintendo have today confirmed that following the 23rd March release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U, a software update will be released in April as a response to Capcom community feedback. The new patch will feature cross-region support between America and European servers, combining them into one consistent region.

The April update will also bring with it off-TV play for the Wii U, allowing players to switch the game to the GamePad controller for a more unique gaming experience.

Capcom has also revealed plans to support the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate title for several months after release with the addition of free weekly downloadable quests. The first quest will be available upon the launch of the title.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be available for both the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U on 23rd March.

SOLD! weekly quests will be pretty awesome! that's if they don't repeat the same quests monthly. game-pad mode is fantastic as well!

A shame that the local multiplayer options will be underwhelming. Had hoped they would do 2-player with one on gamepad, one on TV, but looks like no-go, all the money for co-op went on x-platform between 3ds and Wii U.

Also the game (what I got from the demo) is pretty hard.

I tried out the demo and was pretty underwhelmed. The combat just seems to clunky, not fluid at all and really repetitive. For a that seems to be all combat this seems pretty daft. Has anyone played Monster Hunter 3 on Wii and can attest to this?
