During today's PlayStation Meeting 2013 Ubisoft revealed that their upcoming open world action-adventure game Watch_Dogs will be available for the PlayStation 4, but also separately confirmed the title will be coming to the Wii U.
In Watch_Dogs, players will experience the realities of living in our fully connected society, where individuals and corporations are at risk of exposure by our ever-increasing reliance on networks and technology.

Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

“Ubisoft has a strong history of supporting new technologies with unique and creative offerings,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer, Ubisoft. “The power and capability of the PS4 allows the Watch_Dogs team to further push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible in interactive entertainment.”
Currently the title is looking at a holiday 2013 release, however it is unsure as to when the PlayStation 4 version will be available as Sony has yet to reveal a solid date for Australian consumers.

It will be Khel, but remember that we might have a staggered release with the PS4 so not sure when it will come to Australia. I think I'll just grab it on PC, but I might grab it on Wii U depending on the unique aspects with the GamePad.

I want to know more about the game-world -- is it persistent? Because the cameras all had another username attached... HOW DOES IT WORK, DAMNIT?!

Why get a ps4 and pay all that extra when you can just get this on your PC?

If you were getting a PS4 for just this game, then sure, it wouldn't be worth it. But I'm sure there will be plenty of people (me included) getting a PS4 anyway, whether this was on it or not. I just think it'd be interesting to try this out on PS4 since it'll be a good candidate to stack up next to the PC version and see how much the gap has been closed.

I probably would have been getting it on console anyway, cos I generally play these sorts of games on consoles (no I'm not anti-PC or am saying they're categorically better on console, just my personal preference), so may as well get the best looking console version right?

What a world, where you need to add a qualifier to your statement about playing a game on a console :(

My post wasn't just about this game. But in general, why would you buy another computer(which is what consoles really are) when you can just play these games on your PC with better graphics and generally a better experience?

Play them on your PC then and be happy that you'll be getting even more PC versions that will hopefully be higher quality, better ports since the hardware is so similar. Also, they will use even more graphical fanciness now that the bar for what represents the lowest common denominator has been raised. No need to hate, you still benefit whether you buy a new console or don't buy a new console. Everyone wins!

Loved the subtle political messages in the watchdogs vid with the Iraq war vet being helped by a low income woman and the rich pro life tobacco exec. paying no attention to him at all.

Hoping ps4 can bring us a lot more 60fps games. I'm so used to my PC nowdays I struggle with anything other than Dante's Inferno, which is funnily enough a 60 frame game :P

I'm keen to see more about the Wii U version. If it's out before the PS4 is here, and if they make good use of the Wii U Gamepad (you'd expect a game like this to work really well with it), then I might go for that version.
