EA's Medal of Honor series has been taken "out of rotation" following poor performance, cites EA COO, Peter Moore, who revealed the news during an earnings report overnight.

"The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers," Moore said.

"Critics were polarised and gave the game scores which were frankly lower than deserved. This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of rotation and have to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings."

We didn't necessarily agree with his sentiments regarding the "solid" part of the game, but hopefully DangerClose can move on to something else.

The problem is they completely f***ed up the MP. I liked the previous MOH's MP and this was nothing like it. It's graphics were even significant'y worse. I bought a FB2 FPS and didn't appreciate it having s***** sounds, and it made to look like it's from an outdated game on the unreal engine. It was a really big barrier from the get go.

Then the whole UI problems which were non intuitive and frustrating. Also the whole nations things wasn't done very well at all.

The buddy member system. Not a bad idea except I had my graphics settings up so the outline of my member didn't work. Which I don't think they ever fixed.

What was also weird with how bad the MP looked, is that the SP looked quite good. So wtf happened? MP was all low res, blurry, s*** lighting. The worst motion blur ever. As I said, features like your buddies outline didn't work unless you lowered settings.

I did have some fun, but usually what happened is. I would be playing with some random as a buddy and it was going well. The he'd leave and there'd be a bunch of us on one team not in the buddy system. With no way to pair up. Having to quit the game to be randomly assigned when he joined again.

The MP was broken and when i played a month or so back again. it was still broken.

Oh one more thing

"The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers,"

No the game was horribly designed with a million bugs. This has nothing at all to do with it's problems. The game play when it worked could be fun. Everything around it was a f*****g mess.

"stripped of service"

groan, oh Steve!

out of rotation = our yearly attempts to run this series into the ground have reached fruition and now we can leave this franchise in our dust, confident that we have stripped every last piece of flesh from it's rotting carcass.

like how Battlefield will be a every 2nd year release or IW/Treyarch going on yearly COD rotation. Pretty much they're shelving medal of honor for the moment. they should have just said "We're shelving medal of honor for the moment."

"The game was solid" just like the piece of crap before it.
