Creator of the hit top-down action slasher Hotline Miami has confirmed via his Twitter (thanks Eurogamer) that a sequel is in the works. According to the post, Jonatan "Cactus" Söderström has been "listening to the sweet tunes of a preliminary Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack that we've put together during the weekend."
Speaking to Eurogamer, Söderström clarified that the "we" mentioned in the Twitter post was in regards to the studio, Dennaton Games, and not the guest composer seen in the original title.
"Music wise I'm not sure for the second game yet," he said. "Last time we had nine different musicians doing the soundtrack. Looks like a couple of them might do more tracks for the sequel, but we've been looking at some other bands as well. Want to keep it fresh."
Previously Söderström discussed having DLC for Hotline Miami, however it seems now the case is that the DLC has expanded into a full game, becoming Hotline Miami 2. Players of the original can expect more maps, more guns, more characters and hints at a map-editor as well.
