Following up the GOG.com announcements at their Special Event press conference in Warsaw, Poland. The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED, has revealed the official title of their upcoming sci-fi RPG, now named Cyberpunk 2077, and shared a pile of new details about the game.
The presentation (which you can watch below) includes a special appearance by Cyberpunk 2020 pen and paper RPG writer Mike Pondsmith, who describes his own input on the game.
Key points to take away is that the game will be presented as a sandbox environment, with mature themes "set in the corrupt and tech-advanced world of the year 2077". Mechanics will be based on the rules of the pen&paper RPG system, tweaked for the new time period, and there'll be a "gigantic arsenal of weapons, upgrades, implants, and cool high-tech gadgets".
No in-game screens or concepts were shown, but an official website has now launched with several developer blogs, and one new piece of concept art.
A release date, or target platforms for Cyberpunk 2077 have not yet been announced, but based on CDP RED's history, at least PC is presumed.
