With only a week to go until the launch of Medal of Honor Warfighter, developer Danger Close has released a few new screenshots on their official blog, boasting about using "The best FPS engine out there" --referring to the Frostbite 2.0 engine, the technology created by EA DICE for Battlefield 3, that is now being used across a broad range of EA titles.
Medal of Honor Warfighter is set to deliver an awesome experience as the striking visuals and exciting audio plunge you right into the boots of a Tier 1 Operator. With the Frostbite 2 engine bringing extensive visual detail along with elaborate sound effects, you should be in for the most authentic action and fleshed out scenery, all within real locations from around the world. Check out these most recent screenshots for a look at the extreme level of detail involved.
Medal of Honor Warfighter is due on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on October 25th 2012.

Cryengine 3 is the best FPS engine out there.

But anyway those screen shots aren't impressive. I assume they are of console? Because if that's PC. It's far before BF3.

This game really has gone under the radar for me. If I do decide to pick it up, most likely be from GreenMan because the current pricing of $79 isn't looking nice to me. Hopefully though if I do get it, the multiplayer will actually be somewhat pleasant compared to the previous title which was atrocious.

F*** no, i loved the last MOH's MP. Was sick of COD's perks n gameplay and found MOH more old fashioned run n gun. Also great sound, incredible sound.

Modern day middle-east conflict is the new WW2 for fps games. Sick of it, find something else to make war games about.

Thats one thing at least I'll have to give COD some props for, the setting for Black Ops 2 is at least something different

Well from what I remember (unless they patched it) was the terrible spawning system where it was essentially one spot for each side which led to quite a lot of camping. That and the animations, graphics and sound were really bad. I will give them props on moving out of the perk system, was really nice to just get three killstreak rewards and that was it.

The game looks good, but it feels like a this game is what BF3 Single Player should of been.

BF3 for Multiplayer /Derp
MoH for Single Player /Derp

BF3 + MoH = BF4????

I won't pick this up, even on special. Last MoH was not that great. Middle-east shooters are the new WWII shooters like Khel said. I want more Vietnam, Furutistic, Cyber punk and steam punk FPS.

It's worth nothing that if you have Battlefield Premium and pro-order this you get 50% off. On PC at least.

I got an e-mail telling me my existing pre-order had it's cost reduced. Which is EA doing something nice.

Some people say it's because the game must suck and no ones pre-ordering. I suspect it's probably because they want to reduce the, "Wait and see" purchases. Hoping the game is good enough it slows the take up of Blops 2.

Why are people jumping on the not another middle-eastern shooter wagon? My understanding was that the locales are a lot more varied this time around, with conflicts all over the world. The bad guys still seem to be predominantly Islamic fundies, but the two main campaigns they've been showing have been in The Philippines and Somalia.

Oh nice, I just picked it up at CJS for $43 so no biggie really.

Yeah the setting seems a lot more varied now, which is a nice change but I've never really "hated" the current war settings. Most of the recent FPS titles that use the Taliban/Afghan have done it tastefully so no real whinge from me. This will probably be the first modern FPS that I actually play the singleplayer through to end, so will be interesting.

the rock in the first screenshot looks terrible. All right angles and stretchy textures. they need better rock technology.

When it comes to games.
Generally FPS set in the past are kind of slow and inaccurate to fire.

Those set in the contemporary are a good balance of speed and accuracy.

Those set in the future are way too fast and accurate.
