It's hard not to get caught up in the rampant release date speculation for a game as anticipated as GTA V from a publisher as secretive as Rockstar Games, particularly when parent company Take 2 has indicated a suspiciously optimistic target in their 2013 fiscal year financial projections (which ends March 2013).

Now major games retailer Gamestop has made their own guess, briefly listing a March 1st 2013 date for the game on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on their online store today (which has now been reverted to TBC), and reportedly displaying a March 2013 date for the same in their physical stores (thanks VG247).

Admittedly, retailers are known to frequently get these things wrong, but other times, they may just know something that we don't.

Adding more fuel to the speculation fire, Game Informer has just announced that GTA V will adorn the cover of the December issue of their widely circulated magazine, which generally means some big new reveals can be expected.

Rockstar has yet to officially announce any hint of a release date, and is also yet to confirm the platforms that GTA V will be made available on.
